About Richard’s Build
Originally Richard was in search of a business that could handle his entire build in one process to avoid the run around of visiting multiple businesses. Fortunately we crossed paths with Richard and we were able to deliver exactly what he wanted. We took Richards wish list, discussed a few changes to tailor the package and began the build. We started with our GVM package, added all of the accessories, fitted the tray and then finished it off with the Hardlid camper.
Our premium GVM package was used for this one which is the Jmacx 4495 super chassis. This system uses a replacement rear chassis clip incorporating a 300mm chassis extension, rear coil conversion, upgraded diff housing, brake upgrades, suspension upgrade, driveline upgrades, exhaust system, inbuilt towbar, rear winch cradle, long range fuel tank, speedo correction & much more. It is a full vehicle conversion providing a new GVM of 4495kg GVM, an increased towing capacity to 4000kg and a GCM of 7995kg which makes it a fantastic option for heavily loaded touring or work vehicles. Richard opted for 3 inches of lift and 35 inch tyres which is federally approved and completely legal with this package, the choice of wheel was 305 HD Method Race Wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 tyres.
Richard chose the ARB large tube bar work in the matt black finish for this build. With the bar work we also fitted a Warn winch, Ultra vision lights, ARB bash plate and a rated recovery point. For added protection Richard chose the Provent catch can, Direction Plus pre filter with water alarm and a 4 way breather kit for the front diff, rear diff, gearbox and transfer case. Other external bolt on accessories included the shortened Clearview towing mirrors, a Rhino Pioneer rack and the Safari Armax snorkel.
Electrical modifications for this fit out included a GME UHF & aerial package, GNET dahs camera, Safari Armax performance ECU, ARB twin compressor system, Redarc towpro brake controller, Redarc BCDC charger, Lithium battery system and Anderson plugs to the tray & towbar. We also tinted the windows and installed a pair of bonnet struts for ease of bonnet opening.
Our interior package started with a full strip of all trims, carpet, seats and panels. Dynamat sound deadening was installed throughout followed by a layer of Dynaliner acoustic foam and then a refit of everything interior related. This sound deadening and acoustic foam combination reduces a lot of cabin noise resulting in a much nicer driving experience. A pair of Cruiser Consoles went in for some added storage and comfort, the roof console houses a pair of LED touch lights and the full length centre console with 11L fridge. Next up was the sound system, Richard chose the 9 inch Alpine head unit with inbuilt Hema maps paired up with a reverse camera and a set of speakers mounted in Cruiser Consoles speaker pods. To finish off the interior nicely Richard chose a pair of Recaro Specialist seats with a customer leather trim and air lumbar support.
Thanks to Richard for trusting Jacksons 4×4 to build your ultimate touring dream. The vehicle turned out fantastic thanks to a combination of great quality components and workmanship. Our team look forward to hearing many travel stories in the future form Richard and his wife.
