About Us

The whole Jackson family have always had a passion for 4wds & camping. From a young age the family tradition was to hit the road and go camping whenever the opportunity presented.

Jacksons 4×4 was founded back in 2009. It all started when we were getting some 4wd accessories fitted to our own vehicle at the ARB store in Adelaide and having a chat with the state manager. One thing led to another and, before we knew it, we were presented with the opportunity to open a 4wd store in Murray Bridge as the local ARB stockist.

For us this began as a small hobby business. We serviced the local area as the ARB stockist by supplying and fitting basic 4wd accessories. Before long things soon changed, word spread and the business grew very quickly. We now find ourselves being a true one stop shop for all 4×4 fitouts and we specialise in full vehicle builds. Of course, we are still more than happy to help with fitting basic 4×4 accessories too!

Our Story So Far

  • Where it all began for the Jacksons group, on the farm in Bowhill

    1991

Our sister business Jacksons Australia (originally Jacksons Metal Fabrication) was founded in a small country town known as Bowhill, around 90 minutes outside of Adelaide by Wayne & Marg. The business specialises in engineering and fabrication for a range of industries.

  • Jacksons Australia building their original sheds

    1999

After nearly a decade in Bowhill with demand for their products increasing and the need for access to a larger workforce, the strategic decision was made to relocate the factory to the regional city of Murray Bridge.

  • Jacksons 4x4 is opened in 2009

    2009

The Jacksons 4x4 story starts after a coincidental discussion with the ARB State Manager in Adelaide who revealed the need for an ARB dealer to service Murray Bridge and the surrounding regions. One thing led to another and Jacksons 4x4 Accessories was officially opened as Wayne & Marg’s second business venture.

  • Guy Jackson begins work in the office

    2013

Wayne & Marg’s son (and now the “face of the business”) Guy returns to the family business. After getting his start in the workshop years before hand he makes the move into sales and management.

  • Candy Canvas is acquired by Jacksons

    2014

After many years of supplying Candy Canvas with components for their Carry Me Camper, Wayne and Marg acquired the Carry Me Camper business from the original owners. They then rebranded it to the Jacksons Carry Me Camper and relocated production to Murray Bridge.

  • The first full build done by Jacksons 4x4

    2016

This was the first “full vehicle build” we ever completed and was a key turning point for the business. Back then big vehicle builds weren’t common and when we released the build on our social media accounts the post went viral.

  • GVM upgrade kit

    2017

Recognising the emerging market for GVM upgrades, we officially committed to specialising in this area and became the go to destination for these modifications in South Australia. At this time we added to our product range by becoming the South Australian installation facility for Jmacx Offroad Solutions.

  • Jacksons 4x4 celebrates 10 years in business

    2019

Time flies and before we knew it, Jacksons 4x4 was turning 10. We celebrated the milestone with our biggest ever open day. The open day was extremely successful with over 500 visitors from all over the country and over $15,000 in prizes given away.

  • Work being done in the Jacksons 4x4 workshop

    2020

Things are getting pretty busy around here and our once “excessively big” premises can no longer house our operations. We expand with the addition of a second workshop and a separate warehouse for our stock.

  • 4WDs outside of Jacksons 4x4

    2021

Our business and workforce are growing and we’re no longer the small 2-man operation we once were, having grown to a team of 15 full time staff members, a dedicated management structure is implemented to oversee the Sales, Workshop and Warehouse teams.

  • Jacksons 4x4 touring in New Zealand

    2021

We go international with our first vehicle build making it across the ditch to New Zealand. Soon after another vehicle build is sent overseas to Papua New Guinea.

  • New offsite storage location

    2022

Yet again we’ve run out of room and we need more space. We add our biggest building yet and this becomes our offsite warehouse in addition to our existing premises.

  • Reels of parcel stickers for the Jacksons 4x4 online store

    2023

We begin to take our product range online with the launch of our online store. This allows our customers to browse our product range and have items shipped directly to them.

  • New factory premises

    2024

Our sister businesses double their floor space for the second time in recent years with the introduction of a purpose-built factory for their hard lid campers.

  • Sold sign on some real estate

    202?

There’s always something happening behind the scenes at Jacksons 4x4, you just have to wait and see what it is!
