About Ian’s Build
Ian reached out in search of a chassis extension and coil conversion for his new dual cab Landcruiser. We worked through the options, put a GVM package together to suit the requirements and budget. Once the GVM package was confirmed, we worked out the rest of the accessories and got it organised.
The GVM for this one is 4200kg with a maintained towing capacity of 3500kg, the rear axle load rating also receives an increase from 2300kg to 2850kg. Ian went with 4 inches of lift and 35 inch tyres, his tyre choice was the Toyo Open country RT fitted to a set of ROH Vapour wheels. The rear end was converted to coil springs, the diff housing is replaced with a stronger track corrected housing, the clutch is replaced, the brakes are upgraded and the chassis is extended. All of these modifications are done pre rego as a package in one SSM engineering approval which makes it federally approved and legal Australia wide.
Ian went with a few accessories from ARB including the large tube bar work in satin black finish. In conjunction with the ARB large tube Deluxe bar we fitted the rated recovery point and radiation protection plate. Other ARB accessories included the diff breather kit and a twin onboard air compressor system. We installed a Safari Armax snorkel and ECU package for some added performance with the Torqit exhaust. The fuel filter and catch can were both fitted for some added engine protection, the UHF was installed for communications and a set of Black Duck seat covers went in to protect the factory fabric.
Thanks to Ian for letting us be involved with your new build, we enjoyed working together and cant wait to see the vehicle put to use!
