About Angus’ Build
We started this build off with the GVM package which included converting the rear suspension to coil springs with a Jmacx coil conversion. This particular package provided a GVM of 4200kg with a maintained towing capacity of 3500kg, Angus chose to go for a 2 inch lift which allows legal fitment of 33 inch tyres. As part of the coil conversion package we make upgrades to the suspension, driveline, brakes and exhaust. The choice of wheel for this one was the 305 HD Method Race Wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 tyres.
Angus chose to colour code his bar work to keep the silver theme going with everything else on the vehicle. We fitted the ARB large tube bar work which is now home to a pair of Ultra vision lights, an ARB bash plate and the ARB rated recovery point. For added protection Angus went with the Provent catch can and a diesel pre filter kit. Other external bolt on accessories included the shortened Clearview towing mirrors, a Rhino Pioneer rack and a Safari Armax snorkel. Under the rear we installed a Brown Davis 185L fuel tank for some additional fuel capacity and a Hayman Reese X-bar to take car of towing.
Our interior package started with a full strip of all trims, carpet, seats and panels. Dynamat sound deadening was installed throughout the cabin and then all interior was refitted. This sound deadening package reduces a lot of cabin noise resulting in a much nicer driving experience. A Cruiser Consoles full length centre console went in to provide a comfy arm rest, some additional storage, a pair of cup holders and some 12 volt outlets. Next up was the sound system, Angus chose the 9 inch Alpine head unit with inbuild Hema maps paired up with a reverse camera and a set of speakers mounted in Cruiser Consoles speaker pods.
On the back we fitted up the Norweld package which consisted of their tray & canopy with internal fit out and dual battery system. We are the South Australian installation agent for Norweld products, Norweld handle all quoting and sales so that customers can deal direct with the manufacturer and then we take care of the fitting. In a rear under tray tool box we installed an ARB twin compressor system to take care of tyre inflation and air supply for air tools. Other electrical installs includes the GME UHF package and a Redarc electric brake controller.
Thanks to Angus for choosing Jacksons 4×4 to fit out this new 79 series, we enjoyed the process and think it turned out fantastic!
